The rustic and charming pheasant (kiji) is printed on cotton using a woodblock and stuffed with rice husks. The rice husks give the perfect amount of volume and firmness to bring the expertly shaped and printed creature to life.
The pheasant is decorated with various plant patterns. With a warm gaze and its neck craned backward, it looks as if the bird is watching over a pack of baby pheasants. On the bottom is a sticker with the maker's name in Japanese. It gives a nice accent to any bird lover's room.
