Kōya Reikō is the incense used at the main temple of Shingon Buddhism, which was founded 1,200 years ago at Mount Kōya. It is made locally using natural ingredients such as aloeswood, sandalwood, spikenard and patchouli.
The dry incense sticks have a spicy smell, which transforms into a relaxing woodsy scent when lit. They have a calming effect, reminiscent of being at an old temple in a deep forest. We recommend using them for mediation and relaxation.
